/PRNewswire/ — During the Network This is intended to accelerate the digital and smart transformation of enterprises in Macau.
Hudson Lou, Head of Network Services and Development at CTM, delivering a keynote speech
Due to the stringent requirements of AI for high reliability and low latency, CTM has developed the concept of “intelligent, predictable and secure” network infrastructure. By introducing AGW and AI-powered broadband gateway (BNG) capabilities, CTM equips the network with the ability to intelligently recognize services and dynamically allocate resources, directing traffic to optimal routes to improve user experience and reduce international bandwidth costs.
With the transition to AGW 2.0, CTM intends to combine telemetry with AI-powered analytics, making a fundamental shift from manual optimization to automatic AI-powered optimization. This will enable predictable and differentiated quality of services in high-value applications and increase service revenues for governments and enterprises.
CTM believes that future network security planning cannot be limited to installing a firewall at the edge. Security should be a feature built into the network itself. According to this concept, the industry can develop network modernization in three key areas:
- Built-in device security. By using built-in security features and AI-based behavior analysis, devices can detect unusual behavior in real time. This means moving from traditional signature- and rule-based protection to intelligent detection based on behavior analysis.
- Security features as a service. By pooling security features such as DDoS protection, intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and anti-phishing protection, operators can launch network security services within days. This eliminates the need to manually deploy solutions on-site and enables government and enterprise customers to use on-demand security services, allowing operators to quickly generate revenue from network security capabilities.
- Preparing for the era of quantum computing. To counter the new threats that quantum computers pose to traditional cryptographic mechanisms, CTM and Huawei jointly developed a pioneering solution that includes a target IP architecture with the integration of quantum key distribution (QKD) into communications. It allows operators to test technologies resistant to threats related to quantum computing in advance and plan network development. The solution will provide next-generation security features for data transmission in critical sectors, while the innovative, embedded QKD solution will significantly reduce operation and maintenance costs.
These technology developments not only guide Macau’s network competitiveness, but also provide operators around the world with a new model for transitioning to smart and secure networks in the AI era.
