Analytics environments are more powerful than ever, but they’re also more fragmented. Data now spans cloud platforms, warehouses, lakehouses, BI tools, and operational systems, making it difficult to deliver consistent insights, trusted metrics, and a unified view of the business.
Achieving unified analytics requires more than technology alone. It demands the right strategies to integrate data sources, standardize metrics, align analytics tools, and create a shared foundation for insight across the organization.
DBTA recently held a webinar, Achieving Unified Analytics: Tools, Strategies, and Success Stories, with Dunith Danushka, principal, technical product marketing manager at EDB, who discussed how organizations are putting these approaches into action.
According to Danushka, the market is looking for converged solutions. IDC found that “by 2029, 60% of enterprise data platforms will unify transactional and analytical workloads, powering agentic AI and enabling real-time, continuous intelligence.”
EDB Postgres AI is building the sovereign and open-source AI and data platform for the agentic enterprise, Danushka said.
EDB PG AI Analytics Accelerator (PGAA) provides a Lakehouse ecosystem that includes:
- Open Table Formats and query engines
- Used by all layers of the stack
- Optimized for sharing with other technologies
The platform also involves EDB PG AI for WarehousePG, which is batch/warehouse Analytics (OLAP) that provides:
- Eventual consistency
- Used by reporting layer
- Optimized for unpredictable query patterns
The last part of the solution includes EDB PG AI for ClickHouse, which is real-time, that offers:
- Extreme throughput databases
- Used by sub-second reporting layer (<10ms)
- Optimized for web/app analytics, high-volume telemetry/logs
EDB delivers the power of converged analytics, Danushka concluded. Data, governance, agents, and control on one sovereign platform. EDB Postgres AI (EDB PG AI) brings AI to where your data already lives, so you can run transactional, analytical, and agentic AI at scale.
