/PRNewswire/ — Pylontech (688063:SH) launched mass production of its 588 Ah and 601 Ah LFP prismatic cells for ESS at its Hefei production site on September 21, marking a new step in the company’s expansion into large-scale energy storage.
Pylontech starts the mass production of 588Ah and 601Ah Prismatic LFP Cells for ESS

Pylontech’s 200MW/400MWh standalone BESS project in Ningxia, China.

Pylontech’s 588Ah and 601Ah prismatic LFP cells roll off the production line.
Developed in-house, the 588 Ah and 601 Ah cells are designed for large-scale energy storage applications; they offer a high level of safety, a long lifespan and high energy efficiency. More than 100 MWh of these new cells have already been producedwhich demonstrates the company’s ability to manufacture these new products on a large scale. These cells are also being integrated into the PyOcean 6.25 MWh and 8 MWh energy storage systems of new generation from Pylontech, the implementation of which is about to begin.
The move comes as Pylontech continues its expansion into the large-scale energy storage market. The company has supplied systems for a growing number of large-scale projects in China and internationally, including a 120MW/240MWh energy storage project in Yangzhou, Jiangsu provinceand BESS autonome de 200 MW/400 MWh à Ningxiaas well as projects a Europe. These projects have enabled Pylontech to enrich its experience in the supply and deployment of large-scale energy storage systems.
These new cells provide improvements across all key performance indicators, including capacity, energy density, lifespan and energy efficiency. There 601 Ah cell achieves an energy density of 425.8 Wh/L, a lifespan of more than 12,000 cycles and an energy efficiency of 96.5%. Its higher capacity also reduces the number of cells and interconnections required within a storage system, enabling more compact system designs, more efficient integration and better cost-effectiveness over the entire life cycle.
The production of these new cells relies on Pylontech’s intelligent manufacturing capabilities at its Hefei site. The key production processes are 100% automatedand rely on more than 120 industrial robots and 180 sets of intelligent manufacturing equipment. The company’s manufacturing execution system collects production and quality data across the entire manufacturing process, helping to ensure 100% end-to-end traceability for each cell and guarantee constant quality control.
With the 588 Ah and 601 Ah cells now in mass production, Pylontech will continue to expand its cell technology, manufacturing and systems integration capabilities to meet the growing demand for large-scale energy storage globally.
