MDT Launches Ultra-Low Power TMR1370 Magnetic Switching IC, Enabling More Than Two Years of Standby Operation in CGM Devices

— Next-generation TMR magnetic switch, with ultra-low maximum supply current of 50 nA, expands MDT’s proven CGM sensor portfolio

/PRNewswire/ –MultiDimension TechnologyCo., Ltd. (MDT), a leading provider of magnetic sensors and pioneer of tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, today introduced the TMR1370 ultra-low power magnetic switching IC, the latest addition to MDT’s line of magnetic sensors for continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices. Building on the proven TMR1367, TMR1368 and TMR1369 series, the TMR1370 series offers significantly reduced power consumption, improved voltage compatibility and a more compact package, to enable the implementation of next generation CGM systems with ultra-long standby time.

Optimized for battery-powered CGM devices, the TMR1370 features a maximum supply current of only 50 nA, with a typical value of approximately 30 nA at a supply voltage of 3 V. Combined with the magnetic wake-up mechanism widely used in CGM devices, the TMR1370 provides a standby time of more than two years, helping to extend product shelf life while preserving battery capacity for continuous monitoring blood sugar after activation.

The TMR1370’s exceptional power efficiency is enabled by MDT’s proprietary TMR technology platform, which combines advanced magnetic sensor design, optimized component architecture and proprietary wafer manufacturing technology to achieve high magnetic sensitivity while ensuring ultra-low power consumption. Complementing MDT’s existing line of X- and Z-axis CGM magnetic switches, the TMR1370 provides system designers greater flexibility to optimize sensor orientation and mechanical layout across a wide variety of CGM architectures, while facilitating migration from previous generation devices.
