, /PRNewswire/ — Marconi Technologies and Polish defense integrator Enamor International have been selected to supply high-capacity Orion Deliveries, which will span several years, will begin later this year.
Orion X650
The contract directly supports Poland’s defense investment priorities under the EU’s Security Action for Europe (SAFE) instrument, accelerating the country’s military modernization along NATO’s eastern flank.
Orion X650 is a sixth generation software-defined tactical radio, designed for high-performance communications in hostile environments. It is designed for missions that require frequency agility and survivability, both in motion and during sudden stops. With four RF ports, it can be configured as two independent radio channels (replacing two networked radios) or as a single channel with 4×4 MIMO support to maximize performance and endurance. Its robust design ensures reliable operation in air, land and sea.
For the Polish defense forces, X650 will serve as a data transport backbone that will connect 5G-enabled C2 nodes, extending mobile broadband capability to deployed and dispersed units, while maintaining resilience against electronic warfare threats.
“Poland’s commitment to developing sovereign and resilient defense capabilities aligns with our vision as a Canadian-based company,” said Alain Cohen, CEO of Marconi Technologies. “The choice of our Polish partners, Enamor International, to supply the Orion
The selection follows extensive in-country testing, during which Orion radios, operating in drones, vehicles and fixed positions, validated interoperability, performance and operational flexibility in locations scattered across Poland.
The alliance between Marconi and Enamor International positions both companies to support the modernization of Poland’s tactical communications overall, as SAFE-funded programs progress through 2030.
