Global IT services provider Infosys is about to lose its second company president in only five months.
Mumbai, India-based digital engineering services and solution provider Tech Mahindra this weekend said that Mohit Joshi is planning to join the company as its new managing director and CEO.
Joshi is currently a president of Infosys in charge of the Bengaluru, India-based company’s financial services, insurance, healthcare, and life science business, and also runs its sales operations and software business portfolio.

It is unclear when Joshi will leave Infosys. Neither Tech Mahindra nor Infosys responded to CRN requests for further information by press time. Joshi is no longer listed on Infosys’ website as an executive officer.ADVERTISEMENT
Tech Mahindra said Joshi is expected to take his new position with the company when current CEO C.P. Gurnani retires from his role on December 19 of this year. Joshi is expected to formally join Tech Mahindra before that date to prepare for the transition to the new leadership.
Joshi’s departure comes about five months since another Infosys president, Ravi Kumar, left the company. Kumar in October was appointed CEO of Cognizant, replacing former CEO Brian Humphries. Cognizant is ranked No. 7 on the CRN 2022 Solution Provider 500.
The Times of India Sunday reported that, in addition to losing two company presidents in five months, Infosys’ Group Head of Human Resources Krish Shankar is also leaving the company this month.
According to the Times of India, both Kumar and Joshi were hoping to eventually succeed Salil Parekh as CEO of Infosys, but Parekh in 2022 received a five-year extension to his term, leaving them with a long potential wait to take the top position.
In a prepared statement, T.N. Manoharan, chairperson of Tech Mahindra, said that Joshi will help the company with its future strategy.
“Mohit’s appointment is the successful culmination of a rigorous selection process during which the NRC evaluated a number of internal and external candidates. Mohit’s experience with digital transformation, new technologies and large deals will complement Tech Mahindra’s strategies and continue to build on the strong growth momentum demonstrated by the company,” Manoharan said in the statement.
