/PRNewswire/ — The results of the 51st International Invention Exhibition in Geneva have been announced. The project “Key Precision Manufacturing Technologies and Applications for Low-Loss Stator Cores Based on Ultra-Thin Amorphous Materials”, developed jointly with the GAC Group, was honored with the trade fair’s highest award, the gold medal with the jury’s congratulations. The award is given among the gold medalists and requires the unanimous approval of the jury.
GAC Quark Electric Drive Technology Wins Top Honor at Geneva Inventions Exhibition
For users of vehicles with alternative drives, the range depends not only on the battery capacity, but also on how efficiently each unit of energy is used. By applying an ultra-thin amorphous material to the motor’s stator core, GAC reduces energy losses in the motor, allowing more power to be used to power the vehicle. The Quark Electric Drive 2.0 motor equipped with this technology achieves a peak efficiency of 99.03%, while the electric drive system achieves a CLTC operating efficiency of 94.184%. With the same battery capacity, the range can be extended by 30 to 50 kilometers, so that users can drive further with the same amount of energy and have more confidence in the range in everyday life.
The technology was initially deployed on models for the Chinese market, including the AION N60, the AION RT 2027 and the AION i60 2027. As this technology increasingly enters series production, GAC will expand its use to additional models, translating advances in high-efficiency electric drive technology into tangible efficiency and range benefits for everyday users.
