CCTV+: Hello, Beijing! Exploring the city under China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy

/PRNewswire/ — China is attracting more and more international visitors thanks to expanded visa-free travel and 240-hour transit arrangements, making the country a top destination for foreign travelers to visit, enjoy its cultural charm and taste its delicious delicacies.

With recent policy expansions, China now offers unilateral visa waivers for passport holders from 50 countries, reciprocal visa-free access to 29 countries, and 240-hour transit privileges for travelers from 55 countries.

The capital, Beijing, has become a must-visit destination for many foreign visitors who want to learn about the city’s rich history, see its landmarks and enjoy all it has to offer.

Julian was also one of the foreign travelers who took advantage of the visa exemption. After landing at Beijing Daxing International Airport, he underwent fast-track immigration procedures under the visa-free transit policy to enter China smoothly. After completing all the formalities at the airport, Julian decided to take the efficient Airport Express train to the city center, thereby avoiding rush hour traffic on this almost 45-kilometer route.

After reaching the city center, Julian was eager to try Beijing’s most famous delicacy – the famous Peking roast duck – which he was most looking forward to before his trip.

Julian also explored the vibrant surroundings near the famous Forbidden City in the Chinese capital, where he observed the growing popularity of traditional disguise photography as more and more people enjoy dressing up in ancient garb.

Beijing has continuously improved its services for foreign visitors. Since last year, one-stop service counters have been established in the international arrival areas of Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport, providing over 20 types of essential services in areas such as finance, communication, transportation, culture and tourism.

The city officially launched a comprehensive online service platform called “GO BEIJING” on Tuesday, offering a wide range of services for incoming visitors in various areas. Visitors from abroad can access the platform via the international version of Alipay and use 39 services in 16 languages, including ride-hailing, ticket bookings and hotel reservations. The platform also offers digital services such as an “AI tour companion”.
