/PRNewswire/ — During a think tank conference opened in Beijing on Sunday, 10 typical Chinese examples of megacity management were presented to promote the exchange and application of innovative, excellent experiences, methods and practices in megacity management.

In Beijing, the smart local government services platform “Jingban” now covers all 16 counties, supporting rapid response to service requests, community management, public services and other essential government services.

Using JD Cloud technologies, the clever “Butler”-like platform has brought together over 600 applications to further advance urban development through digital governance.

In Chongqing, the “1361” intelligent management system, which includes a digital operation and management center for various levels of local government authorities, has helped improve the overall efficiency of urban operations in this mountainous city in southwest China.

In Guangzhou, the southern Chinese economic power used market-oriented reforms in the field of data elements to develop innovative platforms that integrate digital technologies and services into the real economy.

The city has established a service matrix with “an online network, an offline window and a hotline” based on its mobile government service application “Suihaoban” to create new digital drivers for resilient smart city governance.

In the eastern Chinese metropolis of Shanghai, “QR code parking” was introduced to promote intelligent management. This allows residents to enjoy convenient and fast parking services by simply using the “Suishen Code” or Shanghai City Travel Code.

Shen Tiyan, executive dean of the PKU Institute of Urban Governance, explained that the above cities are characterized by digital technologies in urban governance, improving people’s quality of life through digital means and multidimensional cooperative management.

All of this highlights the people-centered government philosophy and exemplifies innovation-driven progress in modernizing city administrative systems and capacities, Shen added.
