Designed to serve communities locally, Visa Street Soccer parks turn underutilized spaces into active, accessible hubs for sport, learning and connection. As the tournament approaches, the expansion will bring community-driven infrastructure and programming to the 11 2026 FIFA World Cup™ host cities in the United States, including new parks in Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia and Tacoma. This investment in community-focused infrastructure reflects a shared commitment to harnessing the unifying power of sport to galvanize local communities.

“With the FIFA World Cup™ just a few months away, we are moving from preparation to execution,” said Kim Lawrence, North American Regional President, Visa. “This tournament is a global event, but its legacy is built locally in the neighborhoods that will be home to fans, families and the next generation of players. By expanding Visa Street Soccer parks and supporting local businesses and the people who power them every day, we are turning the momentum of the tournament into an important opportunity that will last long beyond the final match.”

Each park is custom designed to provide targeted and ongoing use by the communities it serves and features two Bank of America professional-grade fields, extended-use lighting, learning centers and flexible gathering spaces. Programming is implemented in collaboration with community partners and is tailored to local needs, supporting recreational play, academic enrichment, workforce readiness, and community engagement.

“Communities are built with accessible opportunities to connect, engage in healthy activities, and grow”he stated David Tyrie, president of marketing and digital and specialized client solutions, Bank of America. “These areas are more than just a place to play; they are spaces where people of all ages can find common ground through football, develop essential life skills and forge lasting bonds that strengthen the fabric of the community.”

Since the first park opened in San Francisco last year, the initiative is already demonstrating its real impact with additional parks in Denver, Kansas City and New York currently hosting youth and adult leagues, after-school academic support, financial education sessions and job training programs in collaboration with local organizations. Previously announced parks in Nashville and Atlanta remain in development, and opening dates will be announced as planning is finalized.

“It’s not about enjoying a moment of fleeting emotion, but about building something lasting,” stated Lawrence Cann, co-founder and president of Street Soccer USA. “These parks are designed for consistency and accessibility, but most importantly, they are owned by the communities that power them every day. With community leadership at their core, they create a lasting legacy, built and maintained by those who call these neighborhoods home. As we expand these initiatives to more cities across the country, we are focusing on permanence to ensure this work lasts long after the tournament ends.”

The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will bring unprecedented global attention to the United States. Through Visa Street Soccer parks, and supporting the people and small businesses that power them, Visa, Street Soccer USA and Bank of America are already making a community impact, building spaces that will serve local communities well beyond the tournament.
