/PRNewswire/ — On December 29, the exhibition “Toward National Strength: China’s Manufacturing Achievements under the 14th Five-Year Plan,” jointly organized by the National Museum of China and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was officially opened at the National Museum of China. It presents more than 300 national success stories. GAC’s outstanding national engineering team has successfully developed both the magazine battery and the solid-state battery selected for the exhibition.

The GAC Magazine battery is the first battery system to pass both the nail penetration test and the non-flammability safety test. By using ultra-high intrinsic safety cells, an active safety monitoring system on the vehicle and in the cloud, and a multi-dimensional safety protection system, the magazine battery offers a three-stage protection concept with core, active and passive protection. Its safety performance far exceeds the safety requirements for electric vehicle traction batteries (GB38031-2025), which will come into force on July 1, 2026. The magazine battery is currently in use in 1.3 million vehicles that have safely traveled more than 50 billion kilometers – without a single case of spontaneous combustion. This means it offers users a reliable guarantee of safety on every journey.
The large-capacity solid-state battery developed by GAC has achieved an energy density of more than 400Wh/kg and easily passes strict safety tests such as thermal chamber and nail penetration tests at 200°C. This effectively eliminates users’ range anxiety and safety concerns. Through innovations in materials and processes, the solid-state battery has placed itself at the forefront of the industry in key indicators such as safety, energy density and lifespan, providing a superior energy solution for the future development of NEVs (“New Energy Vehicles”). A pilot production line for GAC’s solid-state battery is currently being set up, which can mass-produce vehicle-grade solid-state batteries of more than 60Ah – an important step towards the goal of full vehicle integration by 2026.
Over the years, GAC has continually improved its competitiveness through innovations in intelligent connectivity, NEV propulsion technologies and pioneering technologies. Looking forward, GAC will continue to strengthen its efforts in smart, connected NEVs and leverage other leading technological achievements to drive the industry’s progress.
