China Crafted is a virtual exhibition that invites visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of ancient Chinese artifacts from four great Chinese dynasties: Shang, Han, Tang and Song.
The multimedia product features more than 100 representative objects from more than 30 partner museums around the world.
Through four interactive web pages and four original video productions including animations and expert interviews, the exhibition explores the complex techniques used to make objects as well as the spiritual and cultural values they contain.
China Crafted uniquely combines historical storytelling and cutting-edge digital technology, creating an experience that is both educational and visually captivating.
The exhibition takes place in four sections:
“Sacred Shang” traces the ritual symbolism of jade during the Shang Dynasty, leading to the legendary story of Fu Hao, one of China’s first female generals.
“Heavenly Han” draws from the Han tombs of Mawangdui to reveal the refined lifestyles of the Han dynasty and the philosophical quest for longevity symbolized by lacquerware and silk.
The “Treasured Tang” exhibition reveals the splendor of the Tang Dynasty through exquisite gold and silver objects once used at imperial banquets.
“Serene Song” revolves around the shapes and textures of Song Dynasty ceramics, interpreting the poetic sensibility and neo-Confucian ethics they convey.
With the launch of the Global Digital Art Tour, China Crafted aims to create a vibrant cultural ecosystem that bridges online and offline experiences, connecting the past to the future through innovation, elegance and narrative expression.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Cai Shandi, cultural counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, said the CGTN presentation marked a watershed moment for the international reach of the exhibition. CGTN artistic series.
The exhibition, he added, not only serves as a global platform to showcase the excellence of traditional Chinese culture, but also provides a renewed opportunity to expand cultural exchanges between China and Singapore.
In his speech, Seng Yu Jin, Director of Conservation, Research and Exhibitions at the National Gallery of Singapore, praised the CGTN artistic series as a convincing example of the active participation of the media in the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage in the digital age.
The fourth edition of the ARTSG show this year brings together 106 galleries and artistic institutions from more than 30 countries and regions. It attracts collectors as well as artists, curators, representatives of global brands, museum professionals and academic communities.
