At its third Eco-Day, HiTHIUM presents three groundbreaking innovations that enable a smart future with long-term energy storage

/PRNewswire/ — Because long-duration storage (LDES) plays a central role in overcoming the volatility of renewable energy and enabling a weather-independent green power supplyder dritte HiTHIUM-Eco-Day am 12. Dezember unter dem Motto „The Awakening of Energy • The New World” (“The Awakening of Energy: The New World”) came to a successful conclusion. The event brought together LDES experts, AI Data Center (AIDC) industry leaders, and energy partners from around the world. The event also marked the global launch of three important innovations: the ∞Power8as an 8-hour native solution with 6.9MW/55.2MWh, the ∞Cell 1300Ah as a cell specially developed for eight-hour LDES applications and ∞Power Solutions for AI Data Center as a holistic, combined lithium-sodium energy storage solution over the full runtime.

Jeff Wu’s speech

LDES becomes a strategic enabler for green electricity in all weather conditions

In his opening remarks, Jason Wang, co-founder and CEO of HiTHIUM, pointed out that energy storage, particularly LDES, is the key way to transform green energy from “weather dependent” to “stable and easy to use.” To advance this vision, HiTHIUM has officially unveiled the “All-Weather Green Power • 135 Lighthouse Plan.” The five-year initiative, focused on LDES and guided by the mission to help shape a new world with always-on green energy, focuses on three pillars of action – green intelligent computing, comprehensive storage deployment and green power centers – with the aim of bringing the “lighthouse function” of LDES to additional industries and making green energy benefit everyone.

Industry experts from all over the world took part in the discussion. Senior Analyst Alex Cipolla of Wood Mackenzie provided insights into global LDES trends, applications and technology paths. Zhihua Liu, head of solutions for the South China region at Eaton Power Shanghai, also introduced the company’s innovations in high-voltage direct current technology and intelligent power distribution.

Three breakthrough technologies point the way to the future of LDES and AI infrastructure

As the highlight of Eco-Day, HiTHIUM presented three groundbreaking technologies:

∞Power8 mit6.9MW/55.2MWhthe world’s first 8-hour LDES solution designed for all-weather renewable energy smoothing, multi-hour shifting and stable green power delivery.

∞Cell 1300Ah Dedicated 8-Hour Cella next-generation high-capacity cell that enables deep 8-hour cycles, a lifespan of more than 20 years, superior safety and significantly lower LCOE.

∞Power Solutions for AI Data Centerthe industry’s first full-duration lithium-sodium solution that combines long-term lithium storage with high-performance sodium-ion storage for millisecond response time, meeting AIDC’s dual needs for long-term stability and immediate energy support.

AIDC in focus: Deciphering the energy paths and introducing the common industry “Bluebook”

At the AIDC expert panel led by Dr. Nazar Yi, board member and division manager at HiTHIUM, experts from telecommunications operators, data center companies and industry associations discussed whether LDES is the “missing piece of the puzzle” for the realization of CO₂-neutral AIDCs. Guests noted that AIDCs face increasing tensions between rapidly growing computing needs and limited energy supplies, and lithium-based LDES is a key approach to increasing stability, reducing costs and enabling scalable development.

The “China AIDC Energy Storage Bluebook 2025” jointly published by HiTHIUM and leading industry organizations was also launched at the event. The report outlines developments in the energy consumption of AIDCs, the changing requirements for battery storage systems (BBUs), and the growing importance of LDES in relation to the energy limitations of AIDCs, and provides detailed analysis from industry demand to deployment strategies.

Accelerating AI-energy integration and building an open LDES ecosystem

In his closing remarks, Jeff Wu, founder and president of HiTHIUM, emphasized that energy storage systems must compete with wind and solar energy not only in terms of service life, but also in terms of cost. To achieve this goal, HiTHIUM will focus on four priorities: developing ultra-large, highly secure and long-lasting cells, building safe, integrated and efficient systems, promoting intelligent manufacturing and providing fully integrated energy storage solutions.

Eco Day is HiTHIUM’s annual flagship event and reflects the rapid rise of the company, which now ranks second in the world in energy storage battery shipments. Looking to the future, HiTHIUM will continue to expand its technology portfolio, deepen partnership networks and contribute to global clean energy development as the company helps shape the future of energy storage in the age of AI.
