Daimon Robotics presents haptic intelligence infrastructure for physical AI at IROS 2026

/PRNewswire/ –Daimon Robotics, a physical AI company focused on haptic intelligence, exhibits its comprehensive physical AI capabilities at IROS 2026held in Pittsburgh. Under the motto ‘From touch to intelligence’the company presents its touch infrastructure and the latest advances in dexterous robotic manipulation.

Building a touch intelligence infrastructure for physical AI

As robots take on increasingly complex tasks in the physical world, perception must go beyond simply seeing objects and their environment. Contact, force, slip, and material response often determine the success of an action; However, these physical properties are difficult to capture through vision alone. Tactile sensing provides the missing layer of physical information, giving robots a more direct understanding of how they interact with the world.

Daimon is developing an infrastructure that connects haptic perception, physical interaction data, and world models. At IROS, the company demonstrated three levels of this system:

  • Perception — DM-Tac series: Vision-based tactile sensors that offer multidimensional, high-resolution, high-frequency perception through more than twelve touch modalities, with more than 110,000 sensor units. Live demonstrations at IROS—including underwater detection, durability testing, and empty container detection—exhibit the sensors’ high-precision perception and stability under demanding conditions.
  • Datos — Data-Nexus Acquisition System integrates data acquisition devices, networks, processing pipelines, and evaluation benchmarks into a unified data production workflow, continuously generating high-quality physical interaction data for model training.
  • World Model — Daimon-TWM bases intelligence on physical interaction data, which enabling physical cognition, predictive decision making and real-time control for dexterous manipulation.

Daimon-TWM holds its first in-person public demonstration since its launch

IROS 2026 March la first in-person public demonstration of Daimon-TWM since its launch in August. The model is exhibited using two live autonomous manipulation tasks:

  • Stringing friendship bracelets: From picking up tiny engraved beads to lining up their tiny holes and inserting them onto a flexible thread, the task demands small-scale precision, manipulation of deformable materials and adaptation to changing contact conditions. Daimon-TWM continually adjusts its actions based on subtle physical interactions, rather than following a fixed sequence of movements.
  • Thermal transfer printing on canvas bags: The robot autonomously manages label placement, film removal, hot stamping, curing and final placement. This long-term task entails precise positioning, delicate peel-off, changing contact conditions and force-sensitive operations over multiple sequential steps. Daimon-TWM allows the robot to anticipate the consequences of each action and adapt its next movement based on the physical state of the task.

In both tasks, Daimon-TWM uses haptic feedback to stay responsive to the physical state of the task, adapting its actions from one step to the next.

Anchoring physical AI in the real world

Daimon is developing a haptic intelligence infrastructure to empower robots to learn, adapt, and perform increasingly dexterous manipulation tasks in the physical world, moving robotics from vision to touch, and from understanding the world to interacting with it.
