Hikvision obtains the industry’s first EUCC certification for network cameras

/PRNewswire/ — Hikvision has announced that its DeepinView network camera series (iDS-2CD7x) has successfully obtained EUCC (European Common Criteria Cyber Security Certification Scheme). This milestone marks the world’s first product in the CCTV camera category to receive this prestigious certification, underscoring Hikvision’s commitment to massive product security and digital governance compliance.

Hikvision Earns Industry-First EUCC Certification for Network Cameras

The certification was issued by TrustCB BV, an independent certification body commissioned by the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure (RDI). A comprehensive security assessment was carried out by Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity Europe, a globally recognized independent testing laboratory. The certified iDS-2CD7x series, which has been evaluated according to ISO/IEC 15408 (common criteria) and CEM:2022 R1, meets the EUCC security level “significant”, which is in accordance with the assessment security level 3 (EAL3) supplemented by the requirements of ALC_FLR.2 (error correction).

Orientation in a harmonized European cyber security environment

The EUCC, as a newly adopted, highly authoritative framework for product cyber security in Europe, is based on the internationally recognized Common Criteria (CC) standards. Based on rigorous, independent testing and auditing, it systematically verifies product security features, development processes, and vulnerability management.

As the European Union actively strengthens requirements for the security of digital products – such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which introduces requirements for the lifelong security of “products with digital elements”, and the NIS2 Directive, which imposes stricter cyber obligations on critical sectors – the EUCC serves as a trusted point of reference. It provides both manufacturers and end-users with a unified and reliable proof of compliance and offers an essential reference for sectors with high security requirements such as government, critical infrastructure, energy and transportation.

A structured approach to “safety by design”

In today’s connected digital environment, cybersecurity has gone from an add-on feature to a foundational pillar of trust. Obtaining the world’s first EUCC certification in the camera category reflects Hikvision’s structured approach to “security by design”. By integrating strict security principles into every phase of a product’s lifecycle – from conception, research and development to testing, delivery and ongoing maintenance – the company ensures that device security is proactively managed from the ground up.

This certification specifically validates the iDS-2CD7x series’ massive security controls in key areas including identity authentication, access control, secure communications, security auditing and vulnerability management. By setting this new standard, the company sets a new benchmark for cybersecurity compliance across the industry, while further strengthening the trust of customers around the world in Hikvision’s products and solutions.
