The partnership combines Domyn’s sovereign AI infrastructure, from chip to application, with Cognizant’s expertise in enterprise integration and Cognizant’s strong market position in EMEA. This allows organizations in regulated industries to deploy AI securely on-premises and within sovereign environments
/PRNewswire/ — Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH) and Domyn, the European leader in sovereign AI infrastructure for regulated industries, announced a strategic partnership to bring sovereign AI capabilities to organizations across the EMEA region. The partnership will help organizations in highly regulated industries deploy powerful AI solutions that keep data within customer-driven environments and support compliance with European regulatory frameworks.
Domyn’s end-to-end AI system — consisting of computing power, proprietary models, governance and AI agents — is specifically designed to address this challenge. As an AI Builder and trusted global systems integrator with strong enterprise relationships across EMEA, Cognizant is the ideal partner to make these capabilities available at scale.
Under the partnership, Domyn will provide the AI infrastructure layer, including LLMs (Large Language Models) that can be deployed within the customer’s environment, on-premises or in private cloud configurations. Cognizant handles the application, integration and domain-specific execution layer. Cognizant will train and adapt Domyn’s models into smaller, domain-specific models (SLMs), develop AI agents and applications for specific use cases within industries, and be responsible for building legacy data pipelines, data cleansing, and model tuning necessary for deployment across organizations. Together, the companies are executing a joint go-to-market strategy, targeting organizations in the UK and Ireland, the DACH region, Northern Europe, Southern Europe and the Middle East.
For enterprise customers, the partnership unlocks a fully integrated sovereign AI proposition. Organizations gain access to advanced AI models and AI infrastructure without losing control of their data, while benefiting from Cognizant’s proven ability to guide complex business transformations, implement compliance frameworks with human oversight, and drive measurable business results at scale. According to Gartner® “the geopolitical situation is the main driver of demand for truly sovereign AI solutions and services, which negatively impacts global cloud providers offering AI services, such as hyperscale cloud providers. Given the current geopolitical situation, local cloud providers offering AI services will become increasingly relevant competitors and increase their market share.” By 2029, geopolitical conditions will result in 50% of all cloud AI workloads being run through sovereign cloud AI deployment models, up from 5% in 2025.1
“Sovereign AI is one of the key growth opportunities in EMEA, and Cognizant is uniquely positioned to play a leading role in it,” said Manoj Mehta, President EMEA at Cognizant. “Regulated organizations across Europe need AI that delivers transformational results without sacrificing data sovereignty, regulatory compliance or security. Our partnership with Domyn brings world-class AI infrastructure together with Cognizant’s deep expertise to turn that infrastructure into concrete, sector-specific solutions. Together, we give organizations the confidence to rapidly deploy AI — on their own terms and within their own borders.”
“The next wave of AI in Europe will be won by organizations that own and control the intelligence at the heart of their business,” said Uljan Sharka, CEO of Domyn. “Cognizant’s extensive network across diverse industries in EMEA allows us to scale our vision and provide even the most demanding organizations with the foundation to apply AI with purpose and truly own the intelligence they build on.”
The partnership aligns with Cognizant’s three-pronged AI Builder strategy — increasing hyper-productivity, industrializing AI and transforming enterprises with AI agents — and builds on more than 60 AI patents, over 1,500 industry-specific AI agents and a specialized AI Lab in San Francisco and Bengaluru. Additionally, the partnership represents an important step in Domyn’s mission to help regulated organizations own, control and trust the intelligence that powers their most mission-critical workflows. The collaboration will initially focus on customers in EMEA.
