/PRNewswire/ — After more than a decade during which priority was given to the volume of solar installations, participants at Intersolar Europe2026 believe that the European renewable energy market is entering a new phase, where smart storage management and regulatory compliance have supplanted raw capacity as key indicators of competitiveness.

CLOU’s Aqua Series Energy Storage System
In this context, Midea Energy and its flagship storage brands, Hiconics and CLOU, have attracted a steady stream of distributors and regional project developers. The partners emphasize that integrated system control, proven product quality and compliance with local regulations represent strategic assets that allow it to stand out in a saturated and price-driven market.
Storage facilities are booming in Germany, Italy, the UK and Poland, driven by widening day-night electricity price differentials, the phasing out of solar subsidies and growing demand for electricity from AI data centers. Yet industry experts warn that the market is flooded with cheap products that, once put into use, do not meet local security, network code and insurance requirements.
“Many products seem the same at first glance, but their real value lies in the battery management system, fire protection and compliance,” said Oliver, a German distributor who has partnered with CLOU for three years. He noted that some customers who opted for cheaper alternatives later returned because those products did not meet German regulatory or insurance standards. To comply with strict local rules, CLOU collaborates with German research institutes, including the Fraunhofer Institute, to adapt its cybersecurity software and features to regulations such as the German KRITIS Critical Infrastructure Act. “He who buys cheap often buys twice. Trust is the key to the success of storage projects,” he added.
In the residential sector, a European partner of Hiconics insisted on the remarkable advantage of the brand’s high manufacturing quality. It recalled that its storage units, certified to IP66, provide consistent reliability in the field, with lower failure rates than most entry-level alternative options. The iEasyEnergy platform, which brings together solar, storage, heat pumps and electric vehicle charging stations into a single AI-based application, also solves the recurring problem of siled operation of different devices.
For commercial and utility projects, CLOU’s Aqua Series storage systems provide millisecond grid response and advanced cell balancing technology. All products are CE, IEC and UN certified. The partners also reported that the stability of CLOU’s local engineering team constituted a major factor of confidence for large-scale contracts.
Beyond equipment exports, Midea Energy provides local end-to-end services covering design, financing, installation and long-term maintenance. For European partners faced with an increasingly severe regulatory environment, this integrated model is gradually becoming essential in the face of purely price competition.
