  • The choice to adopt and promote responsible digital supports Sopra Steria’s European positioning, reinforced by the appointment of Responsible Digital referents and the opening of the approach to new entities.

/PRNewswire/ –A major player in Tech in Europe, Sopra Steria has obtained the Level 2 Responsible Digital Label awarded by the Responsible Digital Institute for its consulting and integration activities in France, as well as for the scope of the Group’s functional departments. This recognition attests to the longevity and maturity of the approach undertaken, aiming to make responsible digital technology a triple lever for sustainable transformation: for the Group’s activities, employee practices, and digital services developed for customers.

Structuring a more responsible digital world in the era of artificial intelligence

In a context of accelerating uses of artificial intelligence, controlling the environmental, social and ethical impacts of digital technology is acquiring a new dimension; this is a fundamental issue of resilience, sovereignty and competitiveness for Sopra Steria and its clients. This results in the integration of sustainability criteria into the design of digital services. Sopra Steria bases its ecodesign practices on the General Ecodesign Framework for Digital Services (RGESN), in order to reduce the consumption of IT and energy resources and prevent the too rapid obsolescence of digital equipment (PCs, servers).

The Group has also developed two open source solutions for assessing the environmental impacts of digital products and services: one focused on the eco-design of AI models[1]the other on the evaluation of information systems as a whole Sustainable IT Platform[2]. It also contributes to standardization work in favor of frugal AI at European level (CEN–CENELEC – European Committee for Standardization in Electronics and Electrotechnics).

Responsible digital also mobilizes Sopra Steria’s functional departments around tangible levers such as the optimization of infrastructures and the progressive integration of sustainable performance requirements into our own IT purchases. Finally, this dynamic is accompanied by an employee awareness and training plan. By the end of 2025, more than 10,000 employees have been made aware of or trained in eco-design.
