In the press release “ieGeek Introduces AOV Technology for Wireless Security Cameras, Enabling 24/7 Intelligent Recording Without Wires,” published on April 24, 2026 by ieGeek via PR Newswire, we were told by the company that the first sentence of the first paragraph should read as follows: “ieGeek’s AOV (Always-on Video) technology enables wireless security cameras to intelligently record 24/7. In Compared to traditional wireless PIR cameras, it reduces response time, ensuring important moments are captured without missing crucial events.” instead of “ieGeek’s AOV (Always-on Video) technology enables wireless security cameras to realize intelligent recording 24/7 without the activation delays and missed events associated with traditional PIR-based systems.” as originally published accidentally. The full, corrected press release reads as follows:

ieGeek introduces AOV technology for wireless security cameras, enabling 24/7 intelligent recording without wires

/PRNewswire/ — Die AOV (Always-on Video) technology from ieGeek allows wireless security cameras to intelligently record 24/7. Compared to traditional wireless PIR cameras, it reduces response time, ensuring important moments are captured without missing crucial events. The ieGeek S7 combines this feature with long battery life, AI-powered people tracking and an extended detection range.

AOV technology expands the capabilities of wireless cameras

When setting up home security systems, users previously had to choose between two approaches:

  • Wired cameras: 24/7 recording, however, requires complex cabling and fixed placement.
  • Battery powered cameras: Wireless flexibility, but activation delays with PIR systems pose the risk of missing events.

ieGeek’s AOV technology closes this gap, providing the uninterrupted recording of a wired camera with the flexibility of a battery-powered solution that can be mounted almost anywhere.

This is how AOV works

The ieGeek S7 stays continually alert with a low frame rate mode, capturing an image every two seconds by default. This reduces redundant images by around 90%, which saves battery life and memory. When human motion is detected, the camera switches to a video stream at up to 25 frames per second (fps) within 50 milliseconds.

AI-powered automatic people tracking

The ieGeek S7 features an advanced AI algorithm for people detection. As soon as human movement is detected, automatic tracking activates immediately. With a 355° pan range and 120° tilt, the camera automatically follows the target person’s movements, eliminating the need to manually adjust the lens.

Extended detection range

Typical PIR sensors detect heat signatures up to a distance of approximately 10 meters, with accuracy limited by distance and ambient temperature.

The visual AOV Sensor The S7 uses AI-powered image recognition to clearly detect people and vehicles up to 30 meters away and uses image algorithms to filter out irrelevant movements, effectively reducing false alarms.

Extended battery life

The ieGeek S7 is equipped with a high capacity battery of 9000mAh and can be combined with a solar panel for continuous power supply. The combination of the low-power AOV architecture and the high-capacity battery significantly extends the runtime between charges.

Redefines what a wireless camera can do

“Our goal was to address concerns about recording reliability that have long been considered an inevitable compromise with wireless cameras,” said ieGeek’s product lead. “With AOV technology and a clear focus on battery life and detection performance, we believe that continuous protection and wireless flexibility no longer have to be a contradiction in terms.”
