While 85% of organizations have deployed AI agents, most remain stalled by a “productivity paradox” of constant human coordination. Reaching the autonomous enterprise requires agents that automate manual data operations, freeing data professionals for strategic innovation.
Samiran Karmakar, senior manager, product management at Informatica and Shashwat Mahaseth, senior lead, product marketing at Informatica, joined DBTA’s webinar, The Agentic AI Advantage: Scaling Productivity & ROI with CLAIRE, to discuss bridging the gap with Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) and CLAIRE to deliver secure, governed data at scale.
According to Karmakar and Mahaseth, the prerequisites for AI success include data and context. AI is only as good as the data it’s grounded on; without trusted and governed data, agents produce inaccurate or biased results. The context/metadata is the “GPS” for AI. It provides all the information an AI agent needs to use data effectively.
Most organizations are failing here: 65% of companies either don’t have AI-ready data and context or aren’t sure if they do, Karmakar and Mahaseth noted.
However, the difference between AI ambition and operational reality is the complexity barrier, productivity paradox, and the IT bottleneck, they explained.
While organizations want to invest in AI, they struggle with “AI is hard”—the technical difficulty of reliably building, connecting, and governing agents across distributed environments. Modern business processes often stall due to a reliance on constant human coordination and rigid tools rather than autonomous orchestration. Data teams are frequently buried in manual “grunt work,” such as wrangling complex tasks and granting data access, which consumes valuable time that should be spent on strategic innovation.
This is where Informatica’s CLAIRE can help. The platform provides:
- Democratized data access through natural language querying.
- Reduced IT bottlenecks and increased user autonomy.
- Improved data literacy and professional productivity.
- Enhanced data governance.
- Accelerated decisions with faster insight and collaboration.
