FLock.io, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)’s AI strategic partner and a leading platform for decentralized AI (DeAI) development, announced it has onboarded Korean Web3 cyber security company Anam145 as a validator in its network.
According to the vendor, this builds on the success of the pair’s digital transformation of the UNDP’s payment process in Liberia—a project on SDG Blockchain Accelerator cohort 2, strategically led by UNDP’s Alternative Finance Lab (AltFinLab).
The two companies executed a payment infrastructure project to address a persistent issue for UN event participants in Liberia: the slow, cash-based, manual Excel process of receiving Daily Subsistence Allowances (DSA).
The solution was a blockchain-based payment architecture to instantly deliver DSA in a single digital workflow. It supports feature phones and paper vouchers as well as smartphones, which is crucial in a region with low smartphone penetration.
The UNDP’s Liberia office highlighted that it reduced payment processing time from 5-7 days to within 24 hours and significantly enhanced program transparency and auditability.
FLock.io co-led seven global UNDP initiatives to showcase DeAI and federated learning’s power to drive impact across the developing world.
They strive towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by tackling challenges in regions including Liberia, Rwanda, India, and Sierra Leone, with use cases ranging from climate action, finance, and healthcare to wildlife conservation and cultural preservation.
Now, FLock.io and Anam145 are solving the security hurdles of multi-chain networks. The aim is to research ways to efficiently manage and verify network operational trust issues in such environments.
“Our collaboration to modernize the UNDP’s DSA payment system in Liberia was just the beginning. Anam145, which specializes in cyber security, joining as a validator is a huge win for our ecosystem as we collaborate to make our privacy-preserving network even stronger and more secure,” said Jiahao Sun, CEO of FLock.io.
