BE OPEN Regional Art enters its fourth year to support emerging artists from Northeast Africa


/PRNewswire/ –BE OPEN Art, an online gallery created by Elena Baturina’s humanitarian think tank BE OPEN BE OPEN Regional Art also in 2026, the fourth year. The regional emerging artists competition aims to support those whose art best represents their regional, cultural and ethnic identity and is now in its third year.

To this end, the BE OPEN expert community selects those artists who best represent the artistic tradition of a particular region to present them in the BE OPEN art gallery and give them greater visibility. Every month, works of art by 20 new young artists appear in the online gallery, and the regional artist of the month is chosen through a public vote. At the end of the phase, one of the monthly winners will receive the title of “Artist of the Region” and a scholarship, the amount of which will depend on the number of votes from the public and members of the BE OPEN art community.

Running from January to April 2026, the competition is dedicated to the art of Northeast Africa and features artists from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Egypt and Madagascar.

In 2026, each regional phase will last four months, with a winner being announced at the end of the fourth month and awarded 500 euros. In addition, the founder’s favorite receives 300 euros. Elena Baturina explains: “The regional competitions help us to support even more young people.We hope these additional resources will help them continue their successful careers in the arts.

The regional competition runs parallel to the regular work of BE OPEN Art, whose experts select 20 new artists for the gallery every month and choose the artist of the month and the artist of the year via online voting.

With the aim of supporting emerging talent, BE OPEN Art selects artists at an early stage in their careers who demonstrate social consciousness and strive for aesthetic solutions to the ills of today’s world. The project sees its task as finding new influencers in the art scene and invites everyone to make a contribution.

BE OPEN is a global initiative to promote creativity and innovation, supporting people and ideas of today to develop solutions for tomorrow. It is a cultural and social initiative supported by the international philanthropist and entrepreneur Elena Baturina, who lives in Austria.
