/PRNewswire/ –One week after its Kickstarter launch, Anycubic’s Photon P1 has attracted more than 1,200 customers and raised nearly US$880,000, demonstrating strong initial demand for a new category of desktop 3D resin printers designed for production-level workflows. Launched during Formnext 2025, the Photon P1 is a next-generation resin printing system designed to bridge the gap between desktop convenience and industrial manufacturing. With support for high-viscosity engineering resins, optional dual-material printing, and several intelligent automation features, the Photon P1 reflects a shift toward uniformity, repeatability, and ease of use in desktop resin printing.

Built for consistency, not one-off success
Resin printing is no longer limited to exhibition models, but extends to functional prototypes and small series production and regularity and homogeneity over long runs has become an essential requirement. The Photon P1 is designed for system stability, ensuring predictable results on repeated jobs rather than isolated print successes.
At the heart of this approach is Anycubic’s LighTurbo 4.0 optical engine, which provides highly collimated illumination (<2°) and over 92% light uniformity across the entire build area. This uniform exposure reduces dimensional drift when printing full plates or extended production runs.
Mechanical stability is ensured by an industrial-grade Z-axis comprising a precision ball screw and linear rails, enabling repeatable vertical positioning to within ±0.01mm. A precision-machined steel build plate, flatter and stiffer than traditional aluminum plates, reinforces first layer adhesion and long-term reliability.
Together, these elements produce a stable foundation for dimensional accuracy, surface uniformity and repeatability of results – key requirements for professional users.
Preparation for high viscosity resins
The Photon P1 is designed to process industrial grade resins with viscosities up to 8000cps, significantly expanding the range of materials accessible on a desktop platform. These include robust, heat-resistant and elastomeric resins commonly used for functional prototyping, mechanical testing and validation models.
A temperature-controlled 1000ml resin vat helps maintain optimal material flow, while controlled peel behavior and stable exposure performance reduce common failure points associated with high viscosity resins. This allows users to work with demanding materials using predictable, repeatable settings rather than constant manual adjustment.
Optional bi-material resin printing
The Photon P1 also allows optional dual-material and dual-color printing via a dual-material printing kit. Using a dual vat configuration combined with a forked build plate, the system can print two resins or two colors in a single job.
This capability introduces new workflows such as separating functional and visual areas within a model, or reducing post-processing by producing multi-part assemblies in a single print operation. For professional designers, engineers, and creatives, dual-material printing streamlines iteration and improves clarity in essays and presentations.
Intelligent automation for reliable printing
The Photon P1 features Anycubic’s Smart Assistant 3.0, designed to reduce manual intervention and improve printing reliability for varied materials and workloads.
Key automation features include factory-calibrated, intelligent system-assisted checks before printing, dynamic trigger adjustment to optimize peeling, and exposure compensation to balance speed and consistency. AI-assisted monitoring, an optional feature, helps detect common issues such as build plate placement and model stability.
With these systems users can run prints with confidence and maintain consistent results during unattended or batch operations.
Designed for professional workspaces
Beyond basic performance, the Photon P1 introduces a series of user-focused enhancements aimed at professional environments and studios. Features such as the quick-release build platform and resin tank, a flip-top lid, ≤45dB quiet printing, and optional AirPure 2.0 filtration allow the printer to be integrated into shared workspaces, workshops, and offices.
With a build volume of 6.5 liters, the Photon P1 enables both large single-piece prints and efficient batch production, making it suitable for a wide range of professional applications.
A new direction for desktop resin printing
“Creators now expect office equipment to behave like production machines—that is, to be predictable, ready to use, and always consistent,” says James Ouyang, CTO of Anycubic. “The Photon P1 was designed to meet these expectations, bringing industrial-grade reliability in a desktop format.”
As resin printing continues to evolve, the Photon P1 represents an evolution toward systems that prioritize workflow efficiency and long-term reliability, in addition to resolution and detail.
The Photon P1 is currently available through a Kickstarter campaign, with limited introductory prices.
