/PRNewswire/ — The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) announced 29 commercial agreements for the deployment of autonomous mobility technologies on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit, held as part of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week (ADAW).
Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week
The landmark agreements ADIO has signed with partners such as K2, LODD Autonomous (LODD), Autologix, Sinaha, TractEasy, MLG and Space42 mark a key moment for global intelligent mobility. This makes the capital one of the first cities in the world to introduce an integrated, multimodal regulatory and infrastructural environment for autonomous vehicles, enabling companies to move from the pilot phase to commercial use. By attracting investment and partnerships, as well as proving grounds to advance technologies to full commercialization, Abu Dhabi has emerged as a global hub for next-generation autonomous technology companies seeking to establish, innovate, test and scale their technologies.
The 29 commercial agreements cover key sectors including e-commerce, food and goods delivery with partners such as Integrated Transport Center (AD Mobility), Talabat, Noon and Aramex, healthcare delivery and logistics with PureLab, and industrial logistics automation.
Proven autonomous solutions for air and ground delivery and specialized industrial applications have begun commercial operations in Abu Dhabi. This integrated approach, regulated and enabled by SASC across all modes of transport, is transforming the way goods are shipped and received for consumers and businesses.
With a focus on autonomous innovation and sustainable, safe and efficient delivery, a customer-centric logistics network of the future takes another step forward towards full operational readiness. SASC has created an enabling infrastructure, regulatory and safety environment to enable commercial viability assessment and extensive field testing of autonomous solutions in Abu Dhabi.
His Excellency Badr Al-Olama, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, said: “Abu Dhabi is leading the transformation of smart mobility and logistics. These 29 commercial pilot agreements are a critical step towards a future in which autonomous technologies set new standards for transport and commerce. These agreements, led by the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster, translate decades of research and development into concrete commercial applications. Together they represent a key moment in which technology is beginning to function as a viable and indispensable part of the global economy.
This change is made possible by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council’s vision of taking a coordinated approach where regulation, infrastructure and industrial development are driven together, creating a clear path to deployment, commercialization and wider adoption. By driving solutions that support e-commerce, healthcare and critical logistics, we are strengthening Abu Dhabi as a place where emerging industries can grow faster, expand further and have a lasting global impact on the economy and society.”
Sinaha Technology, an Abu Dhabi-based company specializing in AI-powered automation, robotics and drone solutions, is developing logistics innovations that are transforming the movement of goods. These include autonomous ground vehicles (AGVs) that reduce emissions and costs during continuous operation, smart warehouses powered by robotics and AI, and a digital fleet management system that provides real-time visibility and predictive efficiency.
The new approach to logistics management targets Abu Dhabi’s air logistics network and includes several pioneering pilot projects for drone deliveries, carried out by LODD in collaboration with PureLab, EMX, Noon and Aramex. The pilot projects will demonstrate the commercial, operational and environmental potential of unmanned aircraft systems – from safe, cold-chain transport of medical samples to scalable package and mail delivery between sorting centers and drop-off points in neighborhoods.
Working with Talabat, EMX, ENEC, Noon and the Ministry of Local Government and Transport, Abu Dhabi will further expand autonomous logistics through a series of partnerships led by K2. These applications, spanning both air and land transportation, will demonstrate how AI-powered electric vehicles and drones can transform the last and middle mile of delivery. From autonomous drones transporting packages between Talabat hubs and drop-off stations to ground vehicles servicing logistics routes in Abu Dhabi, the projects combine innovation, sustainability and operational efficiency. The launch of all-electric robosweepers and autonomous ground fleets for major logistics partners once again underlines Abu Dhabi’s leadership in delivering real-world autonomy across the city, increasing productivity, supporting net-zero targets and strengthening the emirate’s position as a global hub for smart mobility and smart logistics.
With the formation of a partnership between Autologix (a joint venture between 7X and Zelostech) and Emirates Post, ground deliveries were also expanded to include heavy goods. As part of the pilot project, Level 4 autonomous cargo vehicles will be deployed in Abu Dhabi. The special vehicles were developed without a driver’s cab or steering wheel and represent a new generation of city logistics that is safer, more efficient and operated purely electrically.
All of these initiatives represent Abu Dhabi’s holistic approach to mobility, bringing together infrastructure, regulation and innovation under the SASC umbrella to drive a next-generation sustainable freight and logistics industry. Together, they show how autonomy and innovation are redefining efficiency, safety and environmental performance, positioning Abu Dhabi as a global enabler of smart mobility and regulatory excellence and charting the course for autonomous economies of the future.
