/PRNewswire/ — On November 2, the torch relay for the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China was launched simultaneously in four cities: Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Feng Xingya carried the National Games Torch in the relay
At the torch relay ceremony in Hong Kong, Feng Xingya, Chairman and President of GAC Group, successfully completed the torch relay as the eighth torch relay. Feng returned to a major sporting event after 15 years as a torchbearer, having previously carried the torch at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou. From the banks of the Pearl River to the shores of Victoria Harbor, using the torch as a medium, Feng Xingya has witnessed GAC’s journey from China to the world stage.
As the only official automotive partner of the 15th National Games and the Para & Special Games, GAC leverages technology to promote the sport and provides comprehensive, high-quality service support for the torch relay in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau region. The entire torch relay was supported by multiple GAC models for shuttle services, escort duties and operational logistics, while state-of-the-art technologies such as flying cars, intelligent humanoid robots and L4 level highly autonomous driving were used to enrich this nationally significant sporting event co-hosted by the three regions.
During the torch relay in Hong Kong, the E9 PHEV served as a command vehicle and accompanied the flame throughout its journey. Drawing on its extensive experience in right-hand drive vehicles, GAC also provided customized RHD versions of the E9 PHEV and HYPTEC HT as official service vehicles for the Hong Kong and Macau divisions, supporting the Games with low-carbon and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
In addition, GAC set up the Intelligent Mobility Service Center for the Games, which operated 24/7 with full process management and rapid emergency response mechanisms. This ensured the safe and efficient operation of the service vehicles, providing a reassuring and heartwarming experience that fully demonstrated the outstanding warranty services of Chinese intelligent manufacturing.
From the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou to the 15th National Games in 2025, the venues may have changed, but GAC’s passion and commitment to the country’s sporting development has remained unchanged. As the company continues to grow, its belief in innovation as a driving force of progress remains unwavering.
